Sourcing Turkish construction products for Hungary: a specification and document checklist

The short answer

An offer alone is not a complete procurement file for construction products shipped from Türkiye to a Hungarian project. Keep the exact product and intended use, manufacturer papers, applicable EU construction-product framework, system compatibility, packing and transport records linked together. Requirements depend on product family and the role of the business in the transaction; this checklist is not legal advice.

1. Freeze the technical specification

State manufacturer, trade name, precise type or product code, dimensions, thickness, performance requirements, intended use, quantity and receiving assembly. For insulation, lambda, reaction to fire, thickness and form may matter. For glazing, specify the complete make-up, coatings, spacer, size and calculated properties. The designer or system owner should approve alternatives before order placement.

2. Check the CPR route for that product family

The European Commission explains that CPR-2011 and the revised CPR, Regulation (EU) 2024/3110, coexist during a transition; product families move individually as new harmonised technical specifications are cited. Do not assume that every product follows one document form or one transition date. Check the harmonised standard or European Assessment Document for the specific product, its Official Journal reference, applicable CPR status and the scope of the manufacturer’s declaration. If CE or declaration information is unclear, seek compliance advice before importing.

3. Request and version the papers

Depending on the product, ask for the relevant Declaration of Performance, CE information, technical sheet, safety information, installation instructions, EPD or system evidence. These documents are not all mandatory for every product, and an EPD does not replace a DoP. Record issuer, product ID, intended use, standard or assessment, language, issue date and revision. 4. Add logistics and site handover

Specify pack and pallet dimensions, gross weight, loading limits, freight responsibility, origin and customs data, document handoff, departure and arrival estimates, insurance, damage process and Hungarian delivery point. Glass and fragile boards need separate restraint and unloading plans. Product compliance and shipment administration are distinct checks.
