Dalsan FiBERO mineral wool for partitions: what to verify before specifying it

The short answer

Dalsan’s FiBERO product page describes mineral wool for partitions, curtain walls, suspended ceilings and dry-construction applications. We retain the manufacturer’s broad term “mineral wool”; without the current Declaration of Performance (DoP) for the exact size and variant, it should not be relabelled as glass wool or stone wool. The fire, acoustic and thermal performance of a finished wall belongs to the tested assembly, not the insulation layer by itself.

Define the partition before choosing a product

Confirm the framing type and spacing, wall height, target sound reduction or fire resistance, board type and number of layers, junctions, penetrations and moisture conditions. The manufacturer lists several possible uses, but that does not mean every FiBERO variant gives the same result in every wall. The system designer’s details and classification documents should specify whether the selected product is suitable.

Documents to request

Ask for the exact commercial name, product code and dimensions; current DoP and technical data sheet; installation instructions; and tested fire or acoustic classification for the complete assembly when required. Check that the declaration covers the intended use and specific size. Keep product-level values separate from system performance. An illustrative layer diagram is not an installation specification.

Procurement checks

Estimate quantity using the actual framing layout, cutting allowance and pack size. Record product variant, thickness, dimensions, package count, delivery condition and site access. If a Hungarian wall system has a specific approval or fire rating, its responsible system provider should approve the material and build-up. Compare other products on their own terms: İzocam Optima Smart, ODE Starflex forms and Bonus Premium F versus Gold Plus have different scopes and are not automatic substitutes.

Check the delivered item on site

At receipt, confirm that package labels match the quoted code and that packs have not been damaged or exposed to moisture. Different thicknesses and dimensions change both quantity and cutting plans. Comparing only by weight, pack or volume can be misleading if the variants differ. Keep the delivery record linked to the product declaration and the wall location where the material is intended to be used.

Where acoustic or fire performance is required, check that the evidence covers the frame, boards, joints and fixings—not just the insulation material. Site changes such as new service penetrations or a different board layer may depart from a tested assembly. The system owner should review those changes before installation rather than assume the original classification still applies.
