One market, three HEM prices: reading CEEGEX’s September auction

Three selected HEM categories in the CEEGEX result published for 15 September 2026 cleared between 3,500 and 7,125 HUF/GJ. These are not three quotes for the same commodity: issuance year, catalogue category and HEM age differ. CEEGEX published six categories; this comparison deliberately selects three to show those distinctions.

The residential, new-catalogue category for HEMs aged at least six years cleared at 6,000 HUF/GJ. The corresponding general new-catalogue category cleared at 7,125 HUF/GJ. The selected current-year category for HEMs aged at least six years cleared at 3,500 HUF/GJ. Each figure is the settlement price in the named row of that dated result table. Do not turn these figures into a household offer, installer fee or guaranteed project revenue. HUF/GJ is an energy unit, not a price per square metre.

What the comparison can—and cannot—tell you

An auction result is a dated market observation for a defined category. It does not predict the next auction, establish how much HEM a renovation will produce, or confirm that a given project is eligible. The result table’s category, HEM age, year and volume columns should be read together. Comparisons across different ages or issuance periods are meaningful only when the definitions match. The three rows shown here are a subset of six published categories, not a market-wide average or universal EKR price.

A project owner should answer separate questions: what energy-efficiency measure is planned, how will savings and implementation be documented and verified, and which HEM category applies to a resulting certificate? Buying insulation does not, by itself, create a tradable HEM.
